Shoprite Senior Auditor Manager Data and Analytics

  • Collaborate with the Group Internal Audit Executive in formulating and implementing the GIA data analytics strategy aligned with the
  • Shoprite Group’s overarching strategy, key risks, and business initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a robust audit methodology for Data Analytics.
  • Align the data analytics strategy with the Shoprite Group’s overarching strategy, key risks, and business initiatives.
  • Develop and execute the Annual Audit Plan, specifically the Data Analytics Audit plan approved by the Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Assess data quality to understand potential of data sources, limitations, or issues.
  • Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and audit data management practices, data access, and data usage to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a robust audit methodology for data analytics, including audit planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of audit documents, workpapers, and reports to ensure relevance, accuracy, and quality of deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain data analytics scripts and tests.
  • Manage end-to-end audit reviews using the Agile approach including determining the audit scope, objectives, and approach of internal audit deliverables.
  • Detailed review of audit documents – audit program, planning, workpapers and audit reports to ensure relevance, precision, and quality of deliverables.
  • Build a cluster-based infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data source.
  • Identify and design data pipeline with greater scalability, optimised data delivery to analytical tools.
  • Implement re-usable utility functions that can be used in data pipeline stages.
  • Develop strategic solutions to aggregate, analyse and visualise data using a variety of technologies.
  • Manage performance and development of direct reports to reach business goals effectively; and
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business and key stakeholders to ensure robustness and completeness of audit coverage and contribute at an insight generator/trusted advisor to business to enhance assurance provided of the control environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather insights, identify opportunities, and address challenges related to data analytics and internal audit.
  • Champion the adoption of data analytics within the GIA function and across the organization to foster a data-driven culture.
Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or a related field
Experience

  • +7 years experience in data analytics, data mining, and visualisation techniques – and at least 3 years spent in a Senior Manager role
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as ACL, Arbutus, Python, R, or SQL
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and analytical tools
